“A dog is the only thing on earth that
loves you more than he loves himself.”
― Josh Billings

Yeovil Agility Club was founded in 2004 and is now run by the volunteer Committee listed below. The club trains once a week on Thursday evenings at WHW Kingsdon in a newly built barn so we can train all year around.

Our senior club trainers have all gained experience from competing themselves and have received tuition from some of the best trainers in the South West. Our new trainers are signed up for an Instructors Course to enable us to provide the best possible tuition to our handlers.

Although many of our members compete regularly with great success at both UKAgility and Kennel Club shows, we also are pleased to welcome members  wishing to enjoy fun agility with their dogs with no intention of competing.

The club attends public displays when we can, working alongside local charities and community groups to help them raise funds. Our members use these events for training their dogs at different locations, ideal for competition or just having fun.  We also invite the general public to come and have a go themselves, with their dogs, on some jumps and tunnels, with all proceeds going to charity.

Agility is a sport for everyone, regardless of age, physical fitness and ability. Adapted handling techniques can lead to some very good results from disabled handlers when in direct competition with fully able bodied handlers. This is truly a sport for all; you just need a love of dogs and a sense of humour.

We have all sorts of dogs; Springers, Terriers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Working Cocker Spaniels, Labradors, Retrievers, Viszlas, Cockapoos, German Shepherds... and we even train a few Border Collies!

At present our membership consists of people of all ages. The only requirement is the ability to control your dog, and the willingness to have fun with your pet.
